Join us this Thursday for another beautiful day at the market! This Thursday, Chef Justin Robinson, from local hot spot Toro Lounge, will be providing 2 chef demos, using ingredients found at the market! Come see what he’s cooking up — and grab a sample — at 5:00pm, and again at 6:00pm.
Music — Acoustic Jam at the Market – join in with your favorite instrument! Starting at 5:00pm, in the music booth!

Barb’s Sweets & Treats– has replaced the Almond-Espresso Brittle with old-fashioned Peanut Brittle. This is a new recipe I tried and I’m really excited about it. It’s a pulled brittle, which means it’s thin and crispy. Not nearly as sticky to the teeth as the last brittle. I’ll also have Vanilla Marshmallows!!! Back by popular demand, I’ve worked on the recipe and the rains have gone away, so they’re back for the summer! Both treats are $4.00 per bag and – as usual – addicting. The Hawaiian Sea Salt caramels, Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Tart, Toffee and Peanut Bombs & Crunch are always featured and will be plentiful. Plus there will be lots of lollipops available at only $1.00 each – guaranteed to keep the recipient quiet for at least an hour!
Bon Bon Bakery – This week Bon Bon features fruit tarts with Paul Gregory’s wonderful organic blueberries & apricots! Plus, Mom’s Mocha Torte with fresh raspberries. I’ll have at least one new two-bite cakelet this week, with fresh rhubarb. Also… luscious lemon! Plus, all the shortbreads, granolas and other regular Bon Bon goodies you’ve come to expect, both gluten-free and conventional. See you at market!

READ UP! – STOP THE SUMMER SLIDE!
Hundreds of children in our community will have access to free books this summer thanks to the National Children’s Reading Foundation’s Read Up! summer literacy program. The program aims to reverse the “summer slide”, a situation where students lose up to three months of reading skills when school is out.
Children’s Reading Foundation of Kitsap-Olympic Peninsulas’ volunteers are bringing Read Up! to the market every Thursday through the end of August.
There will be two 20 minute “read-alouds” at 5:15 and 6:30 for children from birth to age 8 and their parents or caregivers. Each week, adults leave with new skills and motivation to encourage reading and children leave with a free new book and fun take-home materials!
Our new matching $ program, called Market Bucks, needs more $$ to keep it going! This program allows the Market to match the first $5 spent by our EBT / SNAP customers.
